Exhibition Details
The Cincinnati Arts Association's Alice F. and Harris K. Weston Art Gallery in the Aronoff Center for the Arts announces The essence of a thing, an eclectic group exhibition of twelve regional women artists who explore natural systems, patterns and structures inherent in the natural world.
Linked by the use of iconography derived from nature, this diverse group shares common thread through the use of pattern, repetition, textural intensity, and richness of materials. Participating artists include Joell Angel-Chumbley, Carissa Barnard, Kaili Brown, Ana England, Rhonda Gushee, Celene Hawkins, Kate Kern, Lisa Merida-Paytes, Cheryl Pannabecker, Rebecca Seeman, Emily Sullivan and Paige Wideman. The exhibition features a variety of media including painting, drawing, sculpture and installation.
