Mychaelyn Michalec: Not to Stifle, but to Clarify

Using both mechanical and hand tools, Michalec (Dayton, OH) creates large-scale textured wool rugs. Her work depicts the mundane matters of domestic life; translating documented scenes of midlife women examining the effects of time on the body, self-identity, sexuality, and changing familial relationships as they move through new phases in their lives.
