Friends of Music Hall Mission
Friends of Music Hall is a volunteer-driven non-profit whose mission is to preserve, promote, improve and provide education about Cincinnati Music Hall, as well as perpetuate Music Hall as the premier cultural center of the region and as a National Historic Landmark of international significance.
About the Tour & Education Outreach Program
The Friends of Music Hall Tour & Education Outreach Program is a volunteer group which helps fulfill the mission of Friends of Music Hall by providing education, preserving history, and promoting awareness of Music Hall. It is coordinated by the Friends of Music Hall Tour & Education Outreach Program Director.
FRIENDS OF MUSIC HALL PROGRAM GUIDES (Tours & Outreach)
Oversight and Support: Reports to the Program Director, who reports to Friends of Music Hall and Cincinnati Arts Association (CAA). CAA also provides additional management support.
Position Summary
- FMH Program Guides provide and lead in-depth, knowledgeable, professional and entertaining tours and outreach programming for guests of all ages in a safe environment in order to foster a deeper appreciation of the history of Music Hall.
- Program volunteers are committed, caring and valuable to the success of the Friends of Music Hall Tour and Education Outreach Program. Program Guides are Friends of Music Hall representatives as well as ambassadors for the resident companies of Music Hall. Volunteers understand their responsibility to always represent the organizations in a positive and presentable manner.

Program Guides are SPMH representatives as well as ambassadors for the resident companies of Music Hall. Volunteers understand their responsibility to always represent the organizations in a positive and presentable manner.
Available Shifts: Tours are typically offered Monday-Friday between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM and occasionally before a performance at Music Hall between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, pending theater availability. Some weekend hours are also available. The position is coordinated with the Tour & Education Outreach Program Director.
CONTENT CURATOR (Researcher)
Oversight and Support: Reports to the Program Director, who reports to Friends of Music Hall and Cincinnati Arts Association (CAA). CAA also provides additional management support.
Position Summary: Content Curators help ensure tour products and information provide entertaining, factual history in order to foster a deeper appreciation of the history of Music Hall. By gathering well-researched, credible, source-cited information and crafting engaging narratives Content Curators help bring Music Hall’s relevance to present-day audiences through tour “Resource Documents” and/or digital media. Although not directly involved with product delivery, Content Curators are assigned pre-approved research projects supporting the program’s goals. Through researching and designing up-to-date product offerings, analyzing and evaluating product structure, and incorporating guests’ feedback, Content Curators help develop the tools of the Friends of Music Hall Tour & Education Outreach Programs and further the knowledge of Friends of Music Hall Program Guides.
Available Shifts: Most research is conducted on a flexible basis at home. Training of program guides offered Monday - Friday between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. Work is coordinated with the Tour & Education Outreach Program Director.
SPECIAL PROJECTS & ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANCE
This organized individual assists the volunteer department with marketing, general office support and special projects, as needed.
Shifts available: Monday - Friday between 10:00 am-5:00 pm once or twice a month. Please note that some assistance can be done from home. Work is coordinated with the Tour & Education Outreach Program Director.
