The Linda Reiff Dancers

U Dance/ We Dance

Inspired by the artwork of Keith Haring, U Dance/We Dance incorporates poetry, movement, puppets, and original artwork to juxtapose contemporary American popular culture with diverse cultures from around the world. This piece explores the integration of all things of the earth and the strength of diversity. Up to 100 students learn segments of the dance piece and then join dancers on stage during the performance.

Recommended Ages: Grades K-6

Maximum Audience:
  • Performance—500
  • Workshop—25
Length: 100 minutes (workshop* and performance 50 minutes each)
*Four workshops held simultaneously.

Cost: $700 (four workshops and one performance)


Technical Needs

  • Artist Arrival: 30 minutes prior to performance
  • Organization representative should meet the artists and show them to the presentation area.
  • The artists would like an organization representative to introduce them.
  • Audience participation: workshop participants
  • There is a Question and Answer session following the presentation, not included in running time.
  • Equipment needed by artists: electrical outlets & microphones
  • Classroom space is suitable for the workshop portion of presentation. Stage or gym floor is desired for performance, prefer wood floor.
  • Please have drinking water provided for the artists.
