Textural Rhythms: Hear the Touch

International award-winning jazz entertainer Kathy Wade and the legendary jazz pianist Khalid Moss take the 'art off the walls and onto the stage' through an integrated multi-media musical presentation relaying the stories found within the new quilt exhibit by the Women of Color Quilters Network, Textural Rhythms: Constructing the Jazz Tradition. The presentation incorporates the history of jazz and its relationship to the history of our country. Trumpeter Mike Wade, bassist Eric Sayer and drummer Melvin Broach give the show added dazzle in their interpretive playing.

Available: Mondays, Tuesdays, & Fridays

Cost: $600 first session/$500 each additional

Technical Needs

• Artist Arrival: 45 minutes prior to presentation
• Organization representative should meet the artist and show her to the presentation area.
• 4 people needed to assist artist with unloading equipment.
• The artist would like an organization representative to introduce her and her band.
• There is an optional Question and Answer session following the presentation. It lasts approximately 10 minutes.
• Equipment needed by artist:
  
  • access to electrical outlets
  • projection screen
  • focus machine
  • sound system (artist can provide sound system if unavailable at site)
• Classroom or large gathering space is suitable for this presentation. Minimum amount of space needed for presentation: 20' x 20'
• Please provide drinking water, juice, or soda for the artist and her band.
