CINCINNATI, OH – The United Kingdom’s hottest and most successful rock show, One Night of Queen, celebrating the music of Freddie Mercury and Queen, makes its Cincinnati debut on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at the Aronoff Center’s Procter & Gamble Hall. Performed by Gary Mullen & The Works, this live tribute concert will feature rebel-rousing renditions of Queen’s greatest hits, such as “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Are the Champions,” “Somebody to Love,” and “Another One Bites the Dust.”

In 1985, following their appearance on Live Aid, Queen was internationally acclaimed as the best live band on earth, with Freddie Mercury as the greatest live performer of his generation. Few performers could ever hope to match his unique talent.

When Gary Mullen won the British television show Stars In Their Eye’ Grand Final in 2000 as Freddie Mercury, he began a fantastic journey with his band, The Works, which has so far taken them to virtually every theatre and concert hall in the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Holland and New Zealand. Gary has been recognized world-wide for capturing the spirit of Freddie like no one else. His voice, persona and portrayal will give you goose-bumps, as his band and concert’s incredible production values recreate the excitement and atmosphere of a live Queen concert to unmatched perfection.

Scotland’s Gary Mullen has been a lifelong Queen fan and has always been a keen singer. His love of singing led to him joining a couple of local bands, with whom he cut his teeth playing live at various clubs around Ireland. Being a big karaoke fan, he found much enjoyment in visiting The Horseshoe Bar in Glasgow, where his uncanny performance of Queen songs wowed the crowd.

Gary's wife and mother secretly sent away an application to Stars in Their Eyes (a British television talent show in which contestants impersonate showbiz stars), and after an audition, Gary was offered a place in the heats. Gary then went on to become winner of Stars in Their Eyes 2000 as Freddie Mercury. Gary polled 864,838 votes in the Stars in Their Eyes Live Grand Final, more than double the runner up and an all-time record number of votes ever cast for an artiste on this TV show.

Seven years of touring has seen One Night of Queen build a reputation for regularly selling out large theatres and concert halls across the United Kingdom and Europe. In 2008, Gary & The Works embark on a return tour of France and their first U.S. tour, during which they will spend eight weeks building their reputation in the states by performing in more than 40 cities.

If you like hot rock, you’ll love One Night of Queen!
