CINCINNATI, OH – The Cincinnati Arts Association (CAA) is proud to present an intimate evening with one of  America’s favorite actress-comediennes when the incomparable Lily Tomlin brings her beloved characters to the Aronoff Center’s Procter & Gamble Hall on Friday, February 6 at 8:00 PM for one night only. The much-anticipated show is a presentation of CAA’s 2008-09 Season.

An Evening of Classic Lily Tomlin is a nostalgic and warm presentation of Lily's "greatest hits" with more than a dozen of her famous characters – including the precocious 6-year-old Edith Ann; the irascible telephone operator Ernestine; the aging beauty adviser Madame Lupe; Lucille the rubber addict; prim Judith Beasley from Calumet City, Indiana; and Lily's most profound character, Trudy, the schizophrenic street lady who starred in Tomlin’s The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe. It will be a night of cerebral comedy and perceptive social commentary woven among Lily's affectionate reminiscences about her childhood in the Midwest.

 

Lily Tomlin is one of the best-loved women in America. Born in Detroit, she's an all-American natural and has won six Emmy® Awards, two Tony® awards and a Grammy® Award for her astounding body of work that includes the landmark comedy series Laugh-In.  Her one-woman performance in Jane Wagner’s The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe also won a CableACE Award for its film adaptation.  Other movies include Robert Altman’s Nashville (Academy Award nomination), The Player and Short Cuts, Joel Schumacher’s comedy The Incredible Shrinking Woman, Woody Allen’s Shadows and Fog, 9 to 5 with Dolly Parton, Orange County, Flirting with Disaster and I Heart Huckabees.  Her memorable television roles include Murphy Brown, Will and Grace and The West Wing.  She can currently be seen in a guest starring role in the 2008-09 Season of Desperate Housewives.
