Inspired by the hit ABC-TV show Dancing with the Stars (beginning its tenth season on March 22), Dancing for the Stars will feature eight Cincinnati celebrities paired with some of the area's finest professional dancers in a competition program, at which the audience will vote for their favorite celebrity dancer. The competitive dance for the evening will be the Latin rumba, and each dance pair will have 90 seconds to woo the crowd and the judges.

Celebrity Dancers

Helen Carroll (manager of community relations, Toyota)
Cathy Crain (president, Cincinnati Opera; community volunteer)
Terry Foster (community volunteer; RN, St. Elizabeth Health Care)
Tanya O'Rourke (anchor, WCPO-TV9)
Sean Rugless (CEO, African American Chamber of Commerce)
'Rockin' Ron Schumacher (on-air personality, 103.5 WGRR-FM)
Marvin Smith (owner & chef, Ollie's Trolley)
Donna Speigel (owner, The Snooty Fox).

The evening will also include: silent auction; catering by Jeff Thomas; Sound Body Jazz Orchestra; Ballroom DJ Tony Rimkus; showcase performance by 2010 Overture Award finalist in dance, Maggie Westerfield; open dancing before and after the competition.

Dancing for the Stars helps raise money for CAA's Overture Awards program, which provides $24,000 in scholarships every year to area high school arts students.

Music Hall Ballroom
One of the most versatile spaces in Cincinnati, the Music Hall Ballroom is the second largest meeting space in the city, encompassing over 20,000 square feet. It is frequently used for large receptions, exhibitions, fashion shows, class reunions and breakfast, lunch and dinner gatherings. It can also be used for stage performances and lectures. In October 1998, a $1.8 million renovation of the Ballroom was completed. The Ballroom can accommodate up to 1,300 based on your event requirements. The room is also equipped with state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment. The large bar area makes the Ballroom a perfect place for parties, according to the groups who come back year after year for annual functions.
