Bi-Okoto Drum & Dance Theatre

E Kaa Bo (Welcome to Nigeria!)

E Kaa Bo is a Nigerian word for “welcome.” With the use of authentic costumes, props, and instruments, Bi-Okoto Drum & Dance Theatre energizes participants by dancing and singing in an interdisciplinary “journey to Nigeria” assembly.

Available: Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays
Recommended Ages: Grades K-Adult
Maximum Audience: 300
Length: 1 hour
Cost: $450 first session/$200 each additional
Limit No. Sessions: 3

Technical Needs

  • Artist Arrival: 30 minutes prior
  • Organization representative should meet the artists and show them to the presentation area.
  • The artist would like an organization representative to introduce them.
  • Two adults or four students needed to assist with unloading equipment.
  • Audience participation: audience participates by singing, clapping and call-and-response. Pre-select five students to participate in dancing (no shoes) and four students to play instruments.
  • There are Question and Answer opportunities during and following the presentation, included in running time.
  • Equipment needed by artist:
    • changing rooms
    • 5 chairs
    • microphones (hand held or wireless)
    • easel & markers
  • Large gathering space is suitable for this presentation. Minimum amount of space needed for presentation: 30’ x 30’.
  • Please have drinking water provided for the artists.
