Charles Dickens (as impersonated by Roger Jerome) hosts a Victorian family party where he briefly tells the story of A Christmas Carol, sings the song "Shiverandshakery," and performs magic tricks. This is an interactive performance with students acting parts and singing along.

Technical Needs

  • Artist Arrival: 90 minutes prior to the performance
  • Organization representative should meet the artist and show him to the presentation area.
  • Two adults or four students needed to assist with unloading equipment.
  • The artist would like an organization representative to introduce him as Charles Dickens.
  • Audience participation: pre-select 3-6 students (including one who is diminutive in size) as participants in the performance.
  • There is a Question and Answer session following the presentation, which is not included in running time.
  • Equipment needed by artist: access to electrical outlets, a table, and a chair or stool.
  • At least 20 members of the audiences should bring outdoor coats, scarves, hats, etc.
  • Large gathering space is suitable for this presentation. Minimum amount of space needed for presentation: 15' x 15'
  • Please provide drinking water for the artist.
