Oh, Shucks! Cornhusk Crafts, Songs & Stories

Through the region’s music, songs, and stories, Russ Childers will relate how the people of Ohio—from Native Americans to African Americans, Appalachians, and Germans—viewed corn and how this important agricultural product helped fuel another industry: pigs and pig products. A hands-on craft demonstration allows children to learn first-hand about recycling on early farms, as they fashion cornhusks into dolls.
