Whirling spirals, interlacing ribbons, and fantastic figures of Celtic art look like they were made by supernatural beings! Have you ever wondered how they did it? Now your students can learn the secrets of the ancient Celts who used these designs on armor, weapons, jewelry and illuminated manuscripts. Internationally known artist Cindy Matyi will teach simple tricks for drawing these complicated designs and tell some interesting history about the Celtic people, while your students experience the thrill of making their own Celtic art.

Technical Needs

  • Artist Arrival: 30 minutes prior to presentation.
  • Organization representative should meet the artist and show her to the presentation area.
  • One person requested to assist with unloading equipment.
  • Audience participation: hands-on drawing
  • Equipment needed by artists:
    • electrical outlet
    • microphone (helpful for large groups)
    • blackboard (cleared)
    • slide projector (if available)
  • Classroom or large gathering space is suitable for this presentation.
