Bacchanal Steel Band

Performing everything from Belefonte to Beethoven on instruments made from 55-gallon oil drums, the Bacchanal Steel Band can take your students on a musical journey to the island of Trinidad. Along the way, they will learn the history and construction of the steel drum and how a musical ensemble works together. Students join Bacchanal as part of the percussion section or "engine room" for an exciting finale!

Length: 45-50 minutes

Cost: $400 first session/$200 each additional

Technical Needs

• Artist Arrival: 30 Minutes prior to performance.
• Organization representative should meet the artists and show them to the presentation area.
• The artists would like an organization representative to introduce them.
• Audience participation: Yes, Bacchanal Steel Band will provide instruments (appx. 20 pieces) for the students to play along. Participant pre-selection is optional.
• There is a Question and Answer session following the presentation. It lasts approximately 5 minutes.
• Equipment needed by artists:
  
  • Electrical outlets
  • 1 hand held microphone
  • VCR (optional)
• A large gathering space for this presentation is recommended. Minimum amount of space needed for presentation: 15' x 15'
• Please provide water for the artists.
