The Greater Cincinnati Cappies began in January, 2002, in cooperation with the theater teachers from Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky and with media support from the Cincinnati Enquirer and CityBeat.
The purpose of the Cappies is to enhance long-term growth of theater and the performing arts within Cincinnati by celebrating, promoting and improving theater at the high school level. Cappies provides outreach within the high school theater community, with trainings, rewards and recognitions for High School Theater students.
